A blazing hot weekend in May 05 saw Tibberton Dynamos team set off to play in the netball tournament at Pontins, Prestatyn. Organised by captain Lizzie Newman, the team comprised Rachael Washington, Tammy Jones,Siobhan Pritchard, Michele Mugeridge, Karen Goodwin, Esther Whitton, Sarah Hobson, Arrival early on the Friday evening by the team ensured everyone was settled in to the “cheap and cheerful” apartments and allowed time for team briefings in the bar over a few drinks.

Saturday saw an early start with matches throughout the day this year, the team made the most of the high temperatures to top up their non existent tans. This year Dynamos were accompanied by trainee umpire Caroline Oram and a keen group of avid supporters made up of friends and family.

Saturday evening was a huge success with most of the team and entourage heading off in a mini bus convoy to the local pub for a meal. Many of the team discovered the “way to Amarillo” that night!

Sunday dawned a cooler day and with thick heads the team played hard. The team seemed a bit disjointed as most players were out of their usual position due to several players suffering severe sunburn sustained between matches on Saturday. Despite the hangovers and red shoulders and legs the Tibberton Dynamos flew the flag well winning 5 out of 11 matches played. Next year who knows – the semis??
