 Silver CAPS Award Minimize

Since 2003 Tibberton Netball Club has been working towards the Club Action Planning Scheme (CAPS) scheme, an award structure for all netball clubs developed by the All England Netball Association. The aims of the scheme is to improve the standards in Netball clubs around the UK by focusing on four key areas that impact Netball clubs:

  • Duty of Care and Child Protection
  • Coaching and Competition
  • Club Management / Administration
  • Sports Equity and Ethics

In the past couple of years we have been collating information, working on policies and procedures and club members have attended coaching, umpiring and duty of care courses in order to fulfil the criteria of the Bronze award. Following our assessment back in August 2003, the club is proud to announce that we have been accredited with a SILVER CAPS award, the first netball club in the county to do so, which is a great achievement for Tibberton Netball Club. This means we are recognised as having a safe, effective and child friendly environment for children and young people.

This season our aim is to achieve the GOLD CAPS award, and with the help of our committee members and Club officials we are sure to achieve it. I'll keep you all posted.

CAPS Co-ordinator
